Production of wind instruments

Welcome to the website of a traditional Czech producer of wind instruments – “M.Jiracek and sons".

The Czech lands have a rich history in the production of wind musical instruments. The first mentions of this production date back to the first half of the 17th century. The manual factory production of M.Jiracek and sons is a continuation of the tradition of famous manufacturers such as -  “Josef Anger", the town of Kraslice (1723-1774),“Josef Cidrich", the city of Brno (1756-1858) , “Bohland & Fuchs", the town of Kraslice (1825-1945).

Milan Jiracek (1941-2010)  gained his first experience with music already as a child. His uncle was a famous Czech conductor Vaclav Jiracek (1920-1966), his brother Jan Jiracek played the trumpet in “Janaceks Philharmonic Ostrava" and “Hannover Symphony Orchestra", a nephew Jan Jiracek von Arnim is a preat piano virtuoso and a winner of many competitions – www.jiracek.com.  Vaclav Jiracek served his apprenticeship in Kraslice and then developed his manufacturing skills when in training with German masters among instrument makers, namely Robert Meinlschmidt, Lausmann, Hüttl, Anton Riedel, V. Bleidel etc. He set up his own workshop in 1992 and from the very beginning he has focused on production of high-quality master instruments. He worked with sons up to 2010 year when Mr. Milan Jiracek  took and died in Frankfurkt um Mainz at 27th March 2010. He is intered in cemetery in Saratice. He have worked more then 500 instruments under marks "M.Jiracek and sons" and "M.Jiráček a synové".

Sons - Milan and Vlastimil Jiracek nowadays produce from 30 to 40 musical instruments of very high quality a year, predominantly French horns and trumpets. For the production he uses materials of the best quality, mainly of German origin – Wieland (Germany). In the course of production the workshop co-operates with top-notch world-class soloists from the Czech Republic as well as other countries. In 2003 his son,  Ing. Vlastimil Jiracek, took control of the firm. The firm furthermore  Employs the following specialists: Milan Jiracek junior, Vlastimil Jiracek and Jaroslav  Bukovsky.
