Flugelhorn, model 182S

The 182S is a legend among our flugelhorns. As a top-of-the-range instrument, it is used by a number of leading players with Bohemian, Moravian and Slovakian brass orchestras, such as Moravanka and the Vlado Kumpan band (the 1st flugelhorn).The instrument only comes with a thin-walled one-piece hand-hammered bell and standardly features a tunable 3rd slide and a water key. It is equipped with Dutch-style valve levers with top-springs (typical for French horns) and first-rate Minibal ball joints. The flugelhorn boasts great responsiveness, a very pleasing higher register, and great intonation. Produced without a bell garland and a guard, it is lightweight and, therefore, very well-suited for longer performances. Upon request, the flugelhorn can be provided with a decorative ring on the body. It comes with a lyre sheet music holder. The flugelhorn has a lacquered finish. The 182S model has a polished silver-plated finish (made by ÖGUSSA Austria) with gold-plated hardware for a surcharge. 182G is fully gold-plated (made by ÖGUSSA Austria).

182S-11 flugelhorn
Heeding the wishes of many a musician, we have produced the legendary 182S flugelhorn with an 11.2 mm bore. The top-of-the-line model (182S-11Z) can be equipped with a rotary valve mechanism with the piping in one piece (without coupling rings).
